What is a
Ministry
Sprint?

A Ministry Sprint is a prayerful, ten-hour strategic workshop. Each Sprint is facilitated across two days by a Mo’ed Consultant, and can be held either at your church, or at an offsite location of your choice. Sprint activities are built to create inclusive, strategic collaboration - rather than just wading through a long group brainstorming session!

Our methodology is based on a process called a Design Sprint. If you want to learn more about that, you can click HERE.

But Design Sprints were made for businesses, not churches!

So we borrowed some ideas for group activities from Design Sprints, then translated them to be focused exclusively on spiritual formation in the church.

Each activity has maintained some of the core principles that make Design Sprints successful- now with a foundation of prayer, and a very different goal.

The
Methodology

An actionable plan to empower spiritual formation at your church.

We’re not coming into your church trying to force a particular program, process, or framework that worked somewhere else. Because God didn’t call you somewhere else. He called you to be exactly where you are.

So we’ll come in as facilitators, seeking to stoke your team’s collective expertise. Along the way, we’ll also be working to foster three things within your team…

The Goal

A mountain range reflecting off of a lake

Clarity

A shared language to articulate your “why” as a church, and an understanding of the opportunities that exist for you- in your church and community

A cluster of trees reaching together to the sky

Unity

Collaborative alignment in your “how,” and appreciation of the talents you collectively possess.

A path through trees

Direction

Excitement around tangible next steps, with key leaders identified and dates determined to ensure completion.

The Schedule

Time is a precious commodity- especially in ministry.

We don’t take lightly the fact that we’re asking for 10 hours of your time. But our experience has been that 10 hours is either just right, or too short!

Along the way, we’ll focus on a few areas. We’ll start by gaining some strategic clarity and unity by discussing:

  • Your mission and/or vision statement

  • The spiritual battlefield in your community

  • The culture of your church

  • And the results of your spiritual formation survey (if you’ve opted to launch one!).

Those activities build towards a discussion around a biblical view of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, and where people at your church may be experiencing blockers on that journey.

Once identified, we’ll determine together the best way to address the biggest blocker your church is currently experiencing.
